The difference here is the retarded doomsday thinkers and people who were had a highly sophisticated knowledge of the Earth etc.

Also, the Mayas said something like "it will end the world as we know it".
A change in the magnetic polar points could cause electricity to be gone for a long while, it'll have influence on nature etc. It's not like earth will blow up. ( Oh and I'm not saying the Mayas are right, but we'll see

Yeah Mayans were kinda odd.
They did things to purposely go cross-eyed because it was considered beautiful. What's intriguing is wondering how they came to be that way.

If I take a rock and engrave : In 564, the universe will end. Then aliens (lol) come to earth and destroy us all and "miraculously" find this rock. I'm pretty sure that they will be "dumb" enough to believe this xD.

The world will undergo a significant change in 2012--it has already started.
As has been mentioned the poles may shift (they are already moving have been for sometime already)....as well as some other nifty things the world has instore for us....you will just have to wait and see for yourself!!!

in 2012 gw will no longer be online so I am not really worried about if I will be playing it.
